Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to get a maintenance issue addressed?

The best way to get a maintenance problem in your room or building addressed is to submit a work order. Please give as much information as possible included the name and contact info of who our technician needs to talk to in order to get any information needed for the repair. It is always best practice to make sure your supervisor has approved the request that you are entering. Photos, diagrams, and/or approval forms can also be attached to the work order for assistance once the ticket has been created by replying and attaching them to the auto response email.

How do I use the work order system?

To use the work system for the first time, login to the myGadsdenState poretal. Choose the Faculty and Staff module, choose Maintenance Department. Under the Maintenance Links, choose Maintenance Work Requestes (Fixit).

To submit a work order, fill out the form and click Submit.

If your request includes multiple trades, such as moving furniture and painting, please ask for attention of Cory or Wes so that they can properly assign the tasks.

How soon will someone come when I put in a work order?

Every work order that is entered into the system is assigned to a technician. Assignments are prioritized based on a number of factors that include emergency or safety issues, time of day the request is made, requested completion date, funding, or availability of technicians or materials. You will receive a notification email letting you know that your request has been received and the current status it has been given. You will also receive notification if the status changes or if the request is a duplicate or is being declined. Finally, you will receive notification when the technician assigned to your request files it as complete.

If you have not had a response to your ticket within, two (2) business days, please e-mail the following four (4) people and be sure to include your ticket number:
